Just near the Golkonda fort lies the Qutb Shahi tombs. They are located at about a distance of a kilometer north of Golkonda fort. They may not be so popular, however, they are huge structures and are a treat to eyes. There are 7 tombs of the rulers of Qutb Shahi dynasty over here. In total there are about 20 tombs. There is a sarcophagus in the center of each tomb which overlies the actual burial vault in a crypt below. The architectural style of these tombs depicts Persian, Pathan and Hindu forms. Entry fee is Rs. 10 for Indian nationals, Rs. 100 for Foreign Nationals, and camera charge is Rs. 20. Timings are from: 9.30 am – 6.30 pm.
