Bhilai to Raipur on bike: Chapter 2: Burha Talab, Raipur

After Kevalya Dham we went to Raipur. Raipur is the capital city of the state of Chhattisgarh. We decided to go to Burha Talab. Burha Talab literally means aged (burha) lake (talab). It is the largest lake in the city. Its beauty is enhanced by an island, laced with green trees and gardens, situated in the middle of the lake.

There were arrangements of boating and all.

The route which goes to the island is a beautiful one.

After walking for about one km. we reached the island. There was a huge statue of Swami Vivekananda. This statue was inaugrated by Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 6 April 2005.

Nearby there is a garden where we found Shiv ling.
