Abbey Falls

You can read the earlier posts on Coorg: Namdroling Monastery, Kushalnagar, Kaveri Nisargadhama, and Coorg, Madikeri.

After spending some time in the park we moved to Abbey falls which is about 10 kms. from Coorg. The falls are covered with mango trees and coffee bushes. We tasted some raw mangoes which a person was selling. It looked like he must have got it from the nearby trees. But plucking mangoes in Coorg is not easy as many trees are on the side of the hills. So, I decided to buy rather than to pluck :) I have tasted alot of raw mangoes but that one was different, a bit sour and a typical taste. There is bridge near to the falls from where you can have a really good view of the falls. I took this shot from that bridge:

The water was again less as that was the dry season. You can see two small streams running down in the picture. It was beautiful but in the rainy season I can imagine it to be in full flow. After having some coconut juice we thought to move to our last spot of the trip Talacauvery which is about 40 kms. from Madikeri.
