@ Neeraj: When I went there I stayed in a guest house near Brindavan gardens. You can find many of them over there with affordable rates.

Firstly, the above piece is very much informative Thanks a TONN !!!!!! . I had memorable trip last week . I would like to add a touch to the above article.

I actually had a 2 day ride to Mysore. After Srirangapatnam I headed my self to Mysore, reached by 2 pm , took a hotel near the Govt. busstand after a lot of research. Tariff near to the Govt bus stand are actually very cheap compared to any other restplaces in Mysore. Nandhini , Ayodhya Lodge are couple of them @ 400 per day. After couple of hours of rest I started exploring Mysore . First destination was the Mysore palace , beautiful in the evenings when illuminated. I actually takes more than 2 hrs to check out Mysore Palace. After spending some time at Mysore Palace I started to Brindavan Gardens. Bike journey to Brindavan Gardens is unsafe and no recommended, so I had to opt for public transport although it was disgusting and I always find someone elses hand in my pockets through out my one hour journey … :P . Leaving transport as an excuse, Brindavan Gardens is a must see place , an absolute delight for eyes. One can spend more than 3 hrs there alone . After spending memorable time @ Brindavan I headed back to hotel.

Next day , early in the morning I started to Chamundi Temple and on the way back visited the Mysore Zoo and then to Rail Museum which is not that great and then to Mysore Palace again and this was my last stop after which I headed back to bangalore . On the way I met some of my frnds in Infosys Campus Mysore . The return Journey was awesome as my speedometer never read below 90, finally reached bangalore at 6pm.

Simply this mysore trip was the most memorable ride I ever had in my life.

Oh yeah...its my passion to explore India, no matter if its real or virtual travel. I enjoy them both. If you like places near Bangalore, I will be posting my next entry on Pearl Valley. I hope you will like it.
