Bangalore to Ramanagaram on bike: Chapter 3: Sri Kengal Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Vandaraguppe village near Channapatna

After Kanva reservoir I went back to the Banglore Mysore highway. Juts near the highway I saw Sri Kengal Anjaneya Swamy Temple. The reigning deity of the temple is a five-and-half-foot tall Hanuman having a moustache. Tradition recounts that sage Vyasaraya, carried out installation rituals after realizing the special properties of a rock which looked like the monkey god, Hanuman. A water tank is located in the temple premises.

A water tank near the temple:

A Swamiji putting tilaka on a visitor’s forehead:

I met a Swamiji over here. He asked me whether I am married or not. After getting the reply from me which was “no”, he blessed me that I will get married soon and be happy. I said, “I am happy”. :)
