Trip to Kanyakumari: Chapter 14: Muttom Beach: Part 2
Then, we went to the beach side. The huts near the beach were beautiful.

I activated the night mode of the camera as light was going down gradually.

Then, we went close to beach. The most striking feature of this beach is that there are huge rocks here and there.

It’s a great view when water splashes on these rocks.

Check out the waves in this snap.

There was a shop near the beach and we had ice creams. Then, we went to the bus stop to catch a bus for Nagercoil. We reached Nagercoil at about 7 pm and from there took another bus for Kanyakumari. After reaching Kanyakumari we had a nice shower and we went for a dinner. As my brother is a vegetarian he went to the same vegetarian restaurant. I was not eating Non-Veg from 9 days as it was Navratri festival. Those who don’t know what Navratri is: Navratri is a Hindu festival of worship and dance. The word Navaratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit; Nava meaning Nine and Ratri meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti/Devi i.e. female divinity are worshiped. As the Pooja was over I thought of checking out some sea foods. When, I was roaming around I found a person selling painted colorful shells. I asked him how much it costs and he said Rs. 30 per piece. I picked two shells and gave it to him. Then, I asked him to paint “Maneesh” on it.

Also, I asked him to paint “Sarita” (that was for my girl friend, I call her Lucky). It was a nice souvenir from Kanyakumari. Then, the person said that he can also inscribe names and designs in the shells which can be used as keyrings. I took 2 small shells and gave it to him. First he painted a design with some chemical. Then, he put them under the acid solution and the design was instantly inscribed in the shells. Then, he added a chain to shells and the keyring was ready with my name on it. Wow! and guess what it costs just Rs. 15 per keyring. I asked him to make two more for Lucky. After that I started feeling hungry. I went to a nearby restaurant and it was closed. I checked my watch Oops! it was 10 pm. While getting keyrings I forgot the time. I saw a vegetarian restaurant but that was not what I wanted. Just near my lodge I saw small shops selling fried fishes. I took two fishes for Rs. 80 and went to my lodge. The fishes were very tasty and it was a great meal. After a nice dinner I put on an alarm for 5 am and went for the sleep. The next day was supposed to be our final day for the trip and I wanted to visit the temples in Kanyakumari.
